Art is an experienced broker and the founder of Properties in Costa Rica. He is committed to excellence in dedicated service and the success of a skillfully executed real estate transaction.
Having been born and raised in Costa Rica, Art appreciates the beauty and energy of his country. Art started his career in real estate as a sales manager for a family construction company, where he worked for three years. There, he quickly learned about the construction process, the importance of the right staging, and how to design and implement marketing campaigns to attract buyers. He assisted clients each step of the way, from obtaining financing through closing.
Having discovered real estate as his passion, Art founded Properties in Costa Rica in 1999. He attended courses at the National Association of Realtors as well as seminars and conventions throughout the country in search of more knowledge and experience, all the while growing his network of contacts. Art has since acted as a consultant for the National Association of Realtors and assisted in the design of their first multiple listing service in Costa Rica. Properties in Costa Rica experienced great success and became the first international office for United Country Real Estate, a U.S. company. During this time Art continued to fuel his success by attending training sessions in both Costa Rica and the United States. He participated in United Country’s National Conventions in Las Vegas, New Orleans, Austin and Florida. They say passion breeds success and Arts dedication and passion for the real estate industry propelled Properties in Costa Rica’s growth into one of the premier real estate establishments in the Nation.
Art attended the business school at the Universidad de Costa Rica where he focused on marketing. He lives in Santa Ana with his wife, a former world traveler and expat from Bolivia via New York. They have three active children who love soccer and the beach. They consider it a privilege to be able to raise their kids surrounded by warm temperatures, beautiful mountains, and nature in abundance.
Grant’s knowledge of the luxury real estate market was gained through his comprehensive luxury real estate marketing and brokerage experience in the United States and Costa Rica. Among his career highlights are record setting sales as a Christie’s Great Estates affiliate in New England, at Hacienda Pinilla Beach Resort and Residential Community, and with Sotheby’s International Realty in Costa Rica. In 2006, Grant established Grant McLean Luxury Real Estate, his own boutique luxury real estate brokerage, marketing and consulting company. Grant is a licensed realtor by the National Association of Realtors and also holds the prestigious “Certified International Property Specialist” title.
Among his exclusive listings, Grant holds several of the most valuable private residences as well as significant sectors of land for development in the region. He also uses his vast knowledge of the luxury market to provide acquisition and market consultations for resort developers, real estate funds, private equity investors, and other acquisition groups on an international level.
Grant holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College in Maine and studied Spanish and International Business as a student at the Universidad de Costa Rica. He is on the Board of Directors for the Country Day School Guanacaste and is the former Vice-President of the Costa Rica Global Association of Realtors (CRGAR). He is married to Rocio Villalobos, originally from San Jose. They have raised two boys, Gabriel and Nicolas, in coastal Guanacaste. Their family loves the beach and nature; surfing, mountain biking and other outdoor activities.
Massimiliano Grego (Max) was born and raised in Milan, Italy. After completing his degree in Social Sciences and Literature at the State University of Milan he moved to Barcelona, Spain. Here, he decided to pursue his studies and complete a Master program in Public Relations and Marketing.
In 1996 he carried out the TOEFL program in English during 6 months at the U.C.S.B. (University of California, Santa Barbara).
Later on, Max moved to Sao Paulo State in Brasil due to a job offer from FIAT Group S.A. as Sales and Marketing assistant. Shortly, he was promoted to Manager for a Logistics company of the same Italian group in Latin America. In Brasil, he founded his own Consulting company for European investors interested in promoting their business in Latin America. Later, this Consultant office specialized in translations. Max is fluent in 4 languages: Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and English.

I missed too much those action sports that I have been practicing for 20 years in Italy. Then, a colleague appeared and told me: Man don't be sad about that, we don't have snow in Brazil, you know what? You will be a surfer! From that day, 18 years ago, the constant search for the best waves is still on..."
In 2013 he finally moved to Tamarindo, Costa Rica. During a boat trip to Witches Rock, he met the Real Estate Broker Grant McLean and his son Gabriel. After a great day of surfing and talking, Grant offered to him to join his team as an Associate Agent, representing Properties in Costa Rica in the Guanacaste area.
Andrés Murillo, the youngest agent at Properties in Costa Rica, was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica. Andrés completed his bachelor degree in business administration and marketing. He decided to pursuit his study and completed a licensure program in business administration.
Andrés moved to live by the beach due to his love for surfing and the ocean. After finishing his program, he quickly got a job with Grupo Diriá, the biggest and most important developer company in Tamarindo area. He received the position as the assistant of the director of the company, where he gained his first experiences in developing projects, selling real estate and getting to know the area all around the coast. He was involved as a sales person and helped with important projects around the area, from getting permits to managing contracting companies.

Kenneth was born and raised in San Jose, it has a bachelor degree in Business and MBA from Universidad de Costa Rica.
From a very young age, he started combining his education with work with several family businesses, which included real state purchases for investing, developing and re-selling properties in both the commercial and residential industry.
He made a life-changing decision to migrate from SJ to Tamarindo, where he has lived for the last 10 months, he is one of our new additions to the Properties in Costa Rica team that oversee activity in the Pacific area of the country.
